Merry Belated Christmas!

So I do believe that today is the first day that I have left my bed or any (my mom's) bed since Christmas Eve. I basically slept through Christmas. I am catching up on all of my sleep that I missed out on during school. So now I have over a week off of work as well. Hopefully I am going to catch up with some of my friends and family during my time off.

Now tomorrow is New Year's Eve already. I can't believe this year is already over with. So much happened in 2008. I had an amazing boyfriend that I spend almost everyday with. We are no longer together, but I feel he taught me some good life lessons and I appreciate him for that. In June I lost my job at Quicken Loans. I worked there for over 4 years and they fired me after I attended my Great Grandma's funeral. I actually hated that job, but still felt like a failure because I was fired. So then I decided to go to school and here I am on winter break.

I am so grateful that I have such amazing friends and family who have stood by me this year and helped me when I lost my job, my boyfriend and started school. With out their support who knows what I would be doing today.

For 2009 my resolution will be to get all A's in school and keep going after my dream.

Happy New Year!!

3 A's and 1 B

Whew... time flies when you are having fun! My semester if finally over. I received my report card (do they even call it that in college) and I earned 3 A's and 1 B. The B was in my writing class and I was very happy with that grade. I was thinking I would get a C or worse... YIKES!! In my math class I earned an A. This was the class I was most afraid of and it was the class I did the best in. I can't beleive how much I love math. I am really proud of myself for going back to school and doing well. I had a lot of stress these last couple of months, but through all of it I kept my priorities in order.

So a little bit of an update on the other "kids" in the class. Most of the semester they talked and disrupted class, but we had a really good teacher and she didn't put up with it. She would embarass them in class asking them what they are talking about. She even had a talk with all of them after class ond day letting them know she will kick them out of the class if they act up again. I never heard even a peep from them after that. One of the girls in this bunch even came to all of the study groups, but she had a really negative attitude. She was always complaining that she hated math and yelling that she doesn't need math for her major. She did horriable on her tests and never did the homework. Once the teacher threatned to throw them out of class she moved her seat up to the front of the room and all of the sudden started doing good. I was impressed.... and come to find out she has to take CALC 3 for her major... lol... I hope I dont need that for mine.

So now that I am on my winter break I am going to relax a bit. I took a week off of work as well during this time.... I've been staying up all night reading and watching T.V and sleeping all day... living the dream....

School

So I am in my 3rd week of school and I love it! I am finally ready to get my education. I don't think I have been serious about school ever. I haven't had good grades since middle school. So I am 31 and just starting college. Most of the other students in my classes are fresh out of high school. I can tell they are just there becuase their parents make them go. They are always interupting class asking if there is going to be homework that day. They are always complaining about the homework. I really just want to punch them in the face, but I am not in high school anymore so I control my anger. I actually started sitting up in the front row of the class so hopefully I can't hear them as much.
